The road ahead is now clear for the 36 teams competing in Europe’s top club competition. Under the league-phase format, each team will face eight different opponents, with Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe representing Türkiye. The league phase will begin on September 8, with the top eight teams qualifying directly for the Round of 16.
Fenerbahçe’s Champions League opponents
Fenerbahçe will face Liverpool, Atlético Madrid, Roma, Aston Villa, Villarreal, Shakhtar Donetsk, Slavia Prague and LASK in the league phase.

Blockbuster matches set for the league phase
The draw also paired several of Europe’s biggest clubs against each other.
Real Madrid will travel to face Arsenal and will also host Inter Milan. Manchester City will welcome back-to-back Champions League winners PSG to the Etihad and will also travel to face Barcelona.
Inter Milan vs Liverpool, Barcelona vs PSG, Atlético Madrid vs Bayern Munich and Manchester United vs Bayern Munich are also among the standout fixtures.
24 of the 36 teams will advance
Each team will play eight league-phase matches, four at home and four away.
The top eight teams in the standings will qualify directly for the Round of 16. Teams finishing from ninth to 24th will enter a two-legged knockout phase playoff, while those placed from 25th to 36th will be eliminated.
Four clubs make their Champions League debuts
Como, LASK, Sabah and Viking will all make their first appearances in the Champions League league phase this season.
Türkiye will be represented by Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe.
Final to be played in Madrid
The league phase will begin with Matchday 1 on September 8-10 and conclude on January 27.
The Round of 16 will be played in March, followed by the quarterfinals in April and the semifinals in late April and early May. The Champions League final will take place at Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid on June 5, 2027.
UEFA is expected to announce the full league-phase fixture schedule on Saturday.
