Galatasaray find a way past stubborn Kocaelispor

Galatasaray were made to work for their fourth league victory of the season as they defeated Kocaelispor 1-0 at RAMS Park.

Okan Buruk’s side dominated large spells of the contest but struggled to turn their possession into goals.

The breakthrough finally arrived in the 71st minute when Abdülkerim Bardakcı found the net to give Galatasaray all three points.

The result lifted Galatasaray to 13 points from five matches, with four wins and one draw, keeping the defending champions at the top of the Turkish Super League.

Beşiktaş cruise past Erzurumspor

Fenerbahçe drop more points in Gaziantep

Fenerbahçe‘s difficult start continued as İsmail Kartal’s side were held to a 0-0 draw by Gaziantep FK.

The visitors created several opportunities but could not find a way through, while Gaziantep also threatened on the counterattack.

After losing 2-1 at home to Beşiktaş the previous week, Fenerbahçe have now gone two league matches without a victory.

At the end of the fifth week of the Turkish Super League they sit 11th with seven points, already six behind leaders Galatasaray.

Gift Orban hat-trick sends Amed into third place

Amed were responsible for the most emphatic result of Matchweek 5, crushing İstanbul Başakşehir 5-0 in Diyarbakır.

The home side went ahead just before half-time before Gift Orban completely took control of the contest after the break.

The Nigerian striker scored three times in the second half to complete an impressive hat-trick, while former Galatasaray forward Mbaye Diagne also got on the scoresheet.

Amed moved to 10 points with three wins, one draw and one defeat, climbing into third place behind Galatasaray and Beşiktaş.

Çorum FK moved to seven points with their biggest victory since reaching the Turkish Super League, while Samsunspor suffered another heavy setback.

Konyaspor hand Trabzonspor another defeat

Kasımpaşa complete dramatic late comeback

Kasımpaşa maintained their unbeaten start to the league season with a dramatic 2-1 victory away to Gençlerbirliği.
