Discussions are still under way over the duration of the renewed ceasefire.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Length of extension yet to be decided<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a title=\"Strait of Hormuz talks enter final stage\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/strait-of-hormuz-talks-enter-final-stage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">US<\/a> and Iran signed the Islamabad Agreement on June 17 following the war that began with US and Israeli attacks on Iran.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement established a 60-day negotiation period aimed at reaching a final settlement.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Iran dismisses claims of US ground offensive<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Meanwhile, Iranian Border Guards Commander Brigadier General Ali Akbar Javidan rejected claims that the United States was preparing a ground operation against Iran, describing them as \u201cimaginary\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Javidan said Iran\u2019s borders remained secure and that border forces were fully prepared to respond to any potential attack.<\/p>\n<p>He also argued that although several Iranian commanders and generals were killed in previous attacks, the structure and operational capacity of the armed forces had not been damaged.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Iran War | &quot;We Totally Control The Strait Of Hormuz&quot;: Donald Trump\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RrZNPqJaeGg\" width=\"337\" height=\"599\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The United States and Iran have agreed in principle to keep their ceasefire in place beyond August 17, according to Pakistani government sources.
